NICK CANNON SEEMINGLY CONFIRMS SPLIT FROM MARIAH CAREY

If the tattoo wasn't telling enough...

After months of speculation, Nick Cannon has seemingly confirmed his split from Mariah Carey. E! News exclusively reported last month that the 44-year-old songstress had "started the divorce process" with a source adding that the singer was "getting all her ducks in a row."

Both People and USA Today are reporting that the pair—who have been married for more than six years and have two children together, 3-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe—have called it quits. And while Carey has remained mum on the pair's relationship status, with the exception of poignantly changing the lyrics to one of her hit tunes during a recent concert, Cannon has apparently been more than happy to speak with the media.

"Ultimately I would think that is what life is all about, to try to pursue happiness, and I try to wake up and take each day with a grain of salt, and say, 'How can I be happy today? How can I affect someone else's day, and hopefully make them happy?'" the America's Got Talent told People on Tuesday at the Samsung DSLR Ditch Day in Los Angeles, sharing how he tries to spread his positive energy to others.

"That's why we all entertain, to put a smile on others' faces," the 34-year-old father added. "I take that as a lifelong goal, but still, at the same time, take it one day at a time."

In the wake of his marital woes, Cannon has been focusing on his children as well as his career and continues to count his blessings. "I wake up every day feeling blessed to be able to be creative, and that someone is paying me to be creative is the most mind-boggling thing to me in the world…and I just know that all of this other stuff is truly just a blessing," he said. "I'm constantly reminded [of that] because I don't stay far away from the community in which I was raised."

He added: "That's the thing, I keep the same people around me and it doesn't change."

Cannon also spoke with USA Today at the same event and the self-professed tech nut was asked how the pair plans to split up their many gadgets.

"There's enough for everybody," he said. "Anything that's cool and new, I want them. I'm the techie of the family, and you've got to buy a couple of everything, so you don't have to split anything."

Meanwhile, the "Always Be My Baby" singer is busy focusing on her music and is currently traveling overseas for her Elusive Chanteuse tour.

Carey and Cannon secretly wed in the Bahamas in 2008 after just six weeks of dating. Exactly three years later, they welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe, whom they affectionately refer to as "Dem Babies."

Erykah Badu Performs Incognito on the Streets of New York City and Doesn't Even Make $4

Fans of Erykah Badu would likely pay big bucks to see the singer live and in concert.

So when the R&B songstress stepped out in disguise Friday night to sing on the streets of New York City, the idea that she would earn a substantial amount of dough seems plausible.

"I kind of always wanted to see what it would be like to sing for money on the streets," she said in her personal video. "I'm going to find a good place to stop and do it."

But as strangers began walking past the singer, the 43-year-old was shocked to watch what was unfolding.

In the video that is seven minutes long, hardly anybody recognizes the talented artist known for her hit songs like "Window Seat," "Love of My Life," and "On & On."

As a result, she earns a whopping $3.60.

"Please sir, give me some money," she sings in her signature voice. "Sister I need some more. I haven't sold a record in two years."

Unfortunately, the New York crowds are tougher than we first imagined.

For the record, Badu says she made the video herself simply as her own social experiment.

"In no way is this video a reflection of my feelings about homeless or unfortunate families nor individuals who have no other means of survival in our world," she commented on the video going viral on YouTube. "Instead, this short film was shot w/ my iPhone and edited in iMovie for entertainment purposes only and serves as a personal 'hustle' experiment for me."

Sorry, Badu, but it looks like the crowd simply wasn't feeling you that night.

PISTORIUS SENTENCING: STEENKAMP'S FAMILY SEEKS JAIL TERM

South African athlete Oscar Pistorius should be given "sufficient punishment" for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, her cousin has told the sentencing hearing in Pretoria.

Kim Martin said Pistorius, 27, "needs to pay for what he has done".

He was convicted of culpable homicide last month but cleared of murder and faces up to 15 years in jail, but the judge may suspend it or impose a fine.

Prisons chief Moleko Modise later said the athlete would be safe in prison.

He was responding to a defence witness who said the disabled athlete would be "broken" by prison, with his lawyers saying he should instead serve house arrest and community service for the killing.

Judge Thokozile Masipa has adjourned the sentencing hearing until Friday morning.

The BBC's Andrew Harding in Pretoria says it appears that the sentence itself will be delivered on Tuesday.

'Not seeking revenge'

Ms Martin - the prosecution's first sentencing witness - said on Thursday that she was fearful of Pistorius.

"My family are not people who are seeking revenge, we just feel that to shoot somebody behind a door that is unarmed, that is harmless, needs sufficient punishment," she said.

On Wednesday, Ms Martin recounted her pain at hearing that the 29-year-old South African model had been shot dead, saying her death was "the end of the world".

We got glimpses in court on Thursday both of the prison life Oscar Pistorius can expect if Judge Masipa chooses a custodial sentence for him, and of the rather abrasive characters who once were part of his social circle.

In recent days the public gallery in courtroom D has seen an influx of conspicuously muscular men who've sat close to Reeva Steenkamp's family. Marc Batchelor is a former footballer and debt collector who has clashed with Pistorius in the past. Mikey Schultz is a self-confessed killer and former boxer. Mark Strydom is, according to legal sources, on parole after serving time for attempted murder and assault.

At one point Mr Schultz and Mr Strydom sat, unexpectedly, on the bench reserved for the Pistorius family, and according to the defendant's brother Carl, Mr Schultz mouthed an obscenity at his sister Aimee, leaving her in tears. Mr Schultz told me later that he'd done no such thing but agreed with Mr Strydom and Mr Batchelor that, in his opinion, Oscar Pistorius was "a murderer" who was "getting off lightly".

Moleko Modise, the Acting National Commissioner for Correctional Services, was later called to defend the reputation of South African prisons, which he said "can cope" with disabled prisoners like Pistorius.

He said that a health assessment was conducted on all inmates "within six hours of admission", and a complete assessment would be completed within 21 days to consider the "security classification" and "social and psychological needs" of the prisoner.

Under cross-examination from defence lawyer Barry Roux, Mr Modise said he thought Pistorius should be placed in the hospital wing of a prison, not the regular section.

Mr Roux cited reports of undiagnosed tuberculosis in South African prisons, as well as rising numbers of incidents of assault and torture in the past year.

Under questioning, Mr Modise said there was one resident doctor for about 7,000 inmates at the Kgosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria.

Mr Roux also said several newspapers had reported threats made by prisoners against Pistorius. However, Mr Modise said he was not aware of any threats being made against Pistorius.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel has said he will call three or four witnesses in all.

'Pistorius vulnerable'

Earlier in the week, social worker Annette Vergeer said double-amputee Pistorius should be placed under house arrest rather than sent to prison, because he would be "a lot more vulnerable than the normal man" in jail.

Mr Nel said her opinion of a sentence of house arrest plus community service "cannot be considered".

"If the court sentence is too light, and society loses trust in the court, they will take the law into their own hands," Mr Nel said.

"That's what the court has to guard against."

The Paralympic sprinter denied murdering Ms Steenkamp after a row on Valentine's Day last year, saying he shot her by mistake, fearing there was an intruder in the house.

Ms Steenkamp, a law graduate, was hit three times by bullets shot through a toilet door by Pistorius at his home in the capital, Pretoria.

Ex-Militant War Lord Claims He Is Not A Nigerian

                                                                                   Asari Dokubo is angry

Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, formerly Melford Dokubo Goodhead Jr, is not a man who is cowed in any situation as he has shown over the years that he has the capacity to give as much as he takes.

The ever controversial Asari Dokubo who held fort as the number one freedom fighter during the fight for the emancipation of the Niger-Delta and the control of its mineral resources, has always claimed that he is not a Nigerian but an Ijaw man, with the notion that Ijaws are not Nigerians.

The angry Asari Dokubo is however not happy with a fan of his and took to his Facebook page to pour some vituperative words on the fan who goes by the name Olabode Oladuja.
Hear what Dokubo had to say to the man:

Olabode Oladuja the Mujahid Dokubo-Asari you claim to admire had never existed or only existed in the fragment of your jaundice mind... it is very pathetic that you thought I was a lackey to your Yoruba thieving political elites....was my struggle about Nigeria?...certainly not....

I am Ijaw fighting for the independence of the Ijaw nation from the strangle hold of the Gambaris, your foxy thieving Yoruba political elites, their conscious or unconscious collaborators....

I have gone up to the Nigerian Supreme Court to state unequivocally that I, Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari,I am not a Nigerian and do not wish to become a Nigerian.
On this old sing song of juicy fruits...it has become so monotonous....that is another misconstruction of my struggle.... My struggle is for Self determination and resource take-over by any means necessary....and that is what had inspired me into armed struggle.

I laugh when people say I support Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan for juicy fruits....did you people celebrate Awolowo because he gave your fathers juicy fruits?....

You have the right to support an Awolowo or Abiola but I don't have the same right to support a Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan....You should always create Yoruba Demi-gods,demagogues and heroes for me to adorn and celebrate....you fail.

My relationship with your elites was because I thought they had genuine concerns for the worst apartheid treatment of the people of the Niger Delta but how mistaken I was....they are just like the Gambaris but worst in their modus operandi...collaborate with the Gambaris but you will fail...just as you failed in Ilorin.

Northerners in South-West Nigeria have arrested 1,000 Boko Haram members in the region, the Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos, Alhaji Sani Kabir stated yesterday, October 16.

Kabir disclosed this during a meeting between the Arewa Council of Chiefs in the South West and the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, in Abuja, Vanguard reports.

The Hausa leader also added that the suspects, who were arrested at different times, had come to the South-West to escape the war against terrorists in the North-East.
Kabir said:

“All the Arewa sarkis (kings) in the south west are up and doing to make sure that we do not allow any breakdown of law and order in our communities.”
“…we inform our leaders that when new people come into their midst, they should observe their behaviour.”
“Some of the leaders in the south west are northerners, some of them are from Borno State, they can know. There were even instances where JTF came from Borno State to identify some of them.”

He also said that the Arewa Council had taken it upon itself to ensure that Boko Haram did not take root in the South West as that would worsen the insecurity in the country.

Ms Romero is currently recovering in a hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Police may have found body of missing actress

Police found a body on Thursday feared to be that of US actress Misty Upham, who appeared in Django Unchained and 2013's August: Osage County, officials said.

The body was found at the bottom of an embankment in a Seattle suburb by a family member searching for the 32-year-old actress, whose movie credits also include 2008's Frozen River.

Upham had been reported missing since 6 October, according to industry journal Variety.

"The body was recovered by a family member of Misty Upham's family who was in the area searching for her," said a statement by the Auburn Police Department.

"A purse containing identification of Misty Upham was at the scene, however, at this time the medical examiner has not made a positive identification nor a determination of cause of death."

According to Variety, Upham's family reportedly told police that she had been suicidal a day before her disappearance. She had moved to Seattle to care for her father, who had had a stroke, it added.

Her father, Charles Upham, was cited as saying that his daughter had stopped taking medication for anxiety and bi-polar disorder.

In August: Osage County she played a housekeeper looking after a strong-willed matriarch (Meryl Streep), surrounded by bickering relatives in a moving portrait of a dysfunctional family.

She had an uncredited part in Quentin Tarantino's 2012 movie Django Unchained, according to her profile page on movie industry website IMDb

Riot at Kirikiri prisons, inmates feared dead

A number of inmates have been killed after soldiers stationed at the Kirikiri Medium Prison, Lagos were called in to quell a riot which broke among inmates of the prison on Friday, an eyewitness has told Saturday PUNCH.

Saturday PUNCH learnt from a source who pleaded anonymity that a protest against the seizure of a ceiling fan belonging to an inmate degenerated into the riot which might have claimed the lives of a number of the prisoners.

Our source, who witnessed the incident, said the shooting started around 1.30pm.

He said, “Someone brought in a ceiling fan for an inmate referred to as the ‘general-overseer’ of the prison’s Christian denomination. But the fan was seized by the officer in-charge of the prisons, who also allegedly ordered the inmate detained.

“The inmate said he was the owner of the ceiling fan and only sent it out of the prison for repairs.”

According to this source, the inmate was later released after protests by his colleagues who felt he was being unjustly punished. But the situation was said to have degenerated beyond control, necessitating the intervention of soldiers at the prisons.

“By the time the inmate was released, the other prisoners had started throwing stones at windows and getting violent. The soldiers shot sporadically at the inmates as they ran into their cells, but many of them were hit,” our source said.

As of the time of filing this report, there was no confirmation on the actual number of prisoners killed but our source claimed to have seen the dead bodies of a number of inmates and some injured prisoners with bullet wounds being transported to the hospital within the prison.

But the spokesperson for the Nigerian Prisons Service, Mr. Ope Fatinikun, told our correspondent on the phone that there was indeed a riot at the prison, which he claimed was not violent.

He said, “No inmate was shot at, but 12 of them who sustained minor injuries have been given treatment.

“If anybody tells you he saw dead bodies of shot inmates, he should provide pictures. We have passed that stage something like that could not have happened without someone getting a picture.”

The Nigeria Football Federation have scheduled the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between the Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana to take place in Uyo.

The Eagles traditionally use the UJ Esuene Stadium, but have decided to switch to the newly-built Uyo International Stadium, following complaints about the condition of the pitch after the 3-2 loss against Congo last month.

NFF officials, led by new president Amaju Pinnick, recently visited the 30,000 capacity venue at the Akwa Ibom capital and were evidently impressed.

The match against Bafana Bafana will be the first time the reigning African champions will be using the stadium.

Tired Of Single Life, Woman Marries Self

                                                      Grace Gelder                             Grace Gelder

Wonders, they say, shall never cease. That is exactly the best way to describe the action of Grace Gelder, an British woman who got so fed up with her single life that she decided to take the bulls by the horns get married: to herself. Grace has thereby set the record of being the first woman in Britain history to marry herself.

In a solemn wedding ceremony which had 50 guests, Grace took the marital vows and committed to herself, ‘the most important person in her life’. She had earlier 'proposed' to herself last November on a park bench, and followed it up with the wedding which is now being considered for a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

Grace Gelder decide to take that action because, according to her, she was fed up being a single woman after six years of building a brilliant relationship with herself, reasoning that creating such a special bond with someone else would be too much work for her.

The newly ‘wedded’ Grace says she was inspired by the Björk song 'Isobel', which includes the line, 'My name's Isobel, married to myself', stating that the lyric of the song struck a chord with her and it was then she decided to walk solo down the aisle.
So to achieve her dream wedding, Grace bought a dress, a ring, rehearsed vows and eventually wed in a farmhouse in rural Devon watched by her sister and friends; she sealed the marriage by giving herself a big kiss on a mirror.

After the wedding, Grace spoke to the UK Guardian:
A few did comment, in a light-hearted way, that it was a bit narcissistic. Obviously, if you have just announced you’re marrying yourself, it is plainly a statement of self-love, and I was under no illusion how self-indulgent that might appear.
But I was completely comfortable with my motivations. I’d been on a journey of personal development using meditation, dance and performance to increase my self-awareness'
Included in this was a Shakti Tantra programme focused on sexuality and how this was bound up with making agreements with yourself and other people.

Sitting on that park bench, it dawned on me that a self-marriage ceremony witnessed by other people would potentially be this massively powerful means of making those agreements stick.
Although the wedding holds no legal ground, Grace is glad she is no longer a 'single' lady.
She added:

It felt like a really big deal saying my vows, which were mostly about me promising to take more risks in matters of the heart.

I really don’t see it as any kind of feminist statement, but creating a wedding of this kind on my own terms felt incredibly empowering.

Niger Delta War Lord Takes Battle To Mecca

Asari Dokubo performing the ritual of stoning the ‘devil’

Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, former militant warlord and leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteers Force, has taken his fight for freedom to Mecca, the holy land of the Islamic faithful.

Asari Dokubo who is part of the millions of Muslims all over the world performing this year’s annual Hajj pilgrimage, while joining other Muslims to perform the ritual of stoning the ‘devil’, not only concentrated on the devil but also took time to throw stones on Boko Haram, the dreaded insurgent sect bedevilling the country, those he called the fabricators of a Chibok Kidnap Scam and even the Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis, someone he sees as towing the lines of the opposition.

After the stoning phase of the pilgrimage, Dokubo took to his Facebook page to narrate what he did:

Stoning every Satan in my life....in my wellbeing ...in my match leading to the total liberation and independence of my country from the shackles and satanic grasp of Nigeria....

Stoning and killing every satanic manipulation, plots, plans and incantations....

Stoning the Satan before me and behind me....stoning the Satan at my right hand side and left hand side....

Stoning the Satan below my feet - creeping on the earth beneath it and stoning the Satan flying in the atmosphere above my head.

Oh ALLAH, every Satan had been stoned... be they the hegemonic born to rule Satans who strive to dispossess everybody else of their freedom, liberty, possession and well being....

Every Boko Haram whether hidden or known.... every fabricator of the CHIBOK SCAM....every lying Steve Davis.

Oh ALLAH let this Jamaarat be a blessing in the totality of my life. Ameen.

Nigerian Lesbian Wins Award For Positive Impact

Nigerian renowned lesbian and activist, Aderonke Apata, who has been battling the United Kingdom immigrations to allow her stay in the country over her status, has been rewarded for her passion in the struggle for the rights of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals & Transgender in the UK.

The 47-year-old Ronke who was one of the front figures demonstrating against the Nigerian government when it signed the Anti-Gay Bill into law some few months ago, beat four other recipients to win the prestigious award.

Ronke who claimed she fled torture in Nigeria after her family and her ex-girlfriend were murdered, and she was sentenced to death for being gay, Nigeria because she was marked for death when she came out to declare that she was a lesbian, has been battling the UK authorities to grant her an asylum when it was clear that she would be deported back to Nigeria.

In the course of the legal warfare, Ronke said she was going to send the tape where she is allegedly having sex with her lesbian partners to the UK Home Secretary to support her claims that she is really a lesbian.

Read her statement here:
*I was asked to bring my supporting documents for my judicial review for the court to look at. What evidence do we have to compile apart from letters from people?

*I have a video of myself and my girlfriend making love, so I thought why not just put it in? I cannot afford to go back to my county where I will be tortured, so if I have to prove it with a sexual video, then I have to do it.

*I feel so bad it’s got to this stage. It’s such a desperate and precarious situation to be in, very dangerous, because anything could happen to those pictures, those videos.
I want sanctuary. I just want to be protected. I want to be who I am. I am a lesbian and I am proud of it.

Linda Ikeji Blog Shut Down By Google

Popular news and entertainment site, Linda Ikeji Blog, was taken down Wednesday by tech firm, Google, after a row over the originality of the blog’s contents.
Linda Ikeji Blog, published on Google-owned Blogger, has grown to become one of the most visited websites in Nigeria.

The site mainly aggregates and republishes news items and entertainment bits sourced from other channels, although it occasionally publishes exclusive contents.
Its publisher, Linda Ikeji, has emerged one of the most successful online entrepreneurs in Nigeria and has been rated amongst Nigeria’s most influential young women.

Lately, the site has been hit by multiple allegations of plagiarism with critics allegedly prodding Google to suspend the blog. The tech firm disallows plagiarism on its platforms.
Ms. Ikeji denies lifting materials without proper attribution.
On Tuesday, Ms. Ikeji said the site came under attack by her competitors driven by envy over her success.

The claims followed allegations of plagiarism by the publisher of another blog, 15Past8, known by the name Aye Dee. Details of the controversial work are not clear.
But on Tuesday, Ms. Ikeji dismissed the allegation in an article, saying she cited sources in all published materials.

Ms. Ikeji said Mr. Dee and other tech-savvy publishers were out to have her website suspended by Google, angered by her success and her recent acquisition of a N24million SUV.
Ms. Ikeji did not respond to our inquiries Wednesday.
She however told her readers via her twitter handle @lindaikeji: “Linda Ikeji Blog will be back in a bit…biko bear with me…:-)”.

At 9:50 P.M. on Wednesday, she announced that she was trying to get a new site for her blog.
“Oh wow! Thanks guys for all the love and support. I’m overwhelmed. Trying to get a new site…please bear with me. Long live LIB. Kisses,” she tweeted.
Google could not be immediately reached also. An official who responded to our call denied knowledge of the suspension of the website.

Falcao: United gambled on me

                                                                                                    Radamel Falcao (Supplied)

Colombian striker Radamel Falcao believes Manchester United took a gamble by signing him on loan from Monaco in the off-season.

The 28-year-old missed the 2014 World Cup with the knee injury he sustained at the start of the year, and recovered in time to take part in several pre-season fixtures.

He made three appearances in Ligue 1 and scored two goals before sealing a switch to Old Trafford on a season-long loan on 1 September.

And Falcao has expressed his gratitude to the club for taking a chance on him, despite his recent injury problems.

"Manchester United were the ones that gambled on me when it was very difficult to do so," he said.

"It has been a very difficult year, not just in my professional career.

"What happened at the start of the year [serious knee injury] affected me in every way, but it has also helped me grow as a human being, to think about many things, to mature."

Looking ahead to the future, Falcao added: "In terms of my thoughts and plans for the future, I want to stay at Manchester United for the coming years.

"I'm still going to need some time to be ok, but I am feeling very comfortable and very good on the pitch, in harmony with myself, with the ball and with football."

Falcao opened his Red Devils account in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Everton, which was his fourth appearance under manager Louis van Gaal.

Jonathan denies 6th richest African president claim

The Presidency on Wednesday condemned the listing of President Goodluck Jonathan as the sixth richest African president by Richest Lifestyle, a U.S.-based website.

Dr Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, in a statement described Jonathan's inclusion in the list of richest African presidents as baseless and libellous.
The statement said that the rating was another attempt to “unjustifiably portray the president as a corrupt leader and incite public disaffection against him.”

It demanded immediate retraction of the publication and an apology from the website and other local media outlets that reproduced it to the president.
Failure to do this, according to the statement, would result in the institution of lawsuits against the organisations involved both within and out the country.

The statement read: “We have noted with consternation the listing of Jonathan by a website, RichestLifestyle.com, as the sixth richest African president with an estimated net worth of 100 million U.S. dollars.”

“The presidency condemns the totally unwarranted inclusion of President Jonathan in the publication titled: Africa’s Richest Presidents 2014.”
“This is another attempt to unjustifiably portray the president as a corrupt leader and incite public disaffection against him.”

“We categorically assert that there is no factual basis for ranking Jonathan as the sixth richest African Head of State with a net worth of about 100 million U.S. dollars.”
“As is well known, Jonathan has never been a businessman or entrepreneur, but a life-long public servant.”
“He has held public office since 1999 and has regularly declared his assets as required by Nigerian laws.”

“The president has had no personal income since 1999 other than his official remuneration as deputy governor, governor, vice president, acting president and president which are matters of public record.”

“There has been no significant variation in the totality of his personal assets as contained in his last declaration to the Nigerian Code of Conduct Bureau in 2011.”
“As can be verified, that declaration was a very, very far cry from the 100 million dollars figure now being bandied about by Richest Lifestyle.com and other irresponsible, copy-cat publications.”
“The clear and unacceptable imputation of the claim that Jonathan is now worth about 100 million dollars is that the president has corruptly enriched himself while in office which is certainly not the case.”

“We, therefore, demand a retraction and an unreserved apology from Richest Lifestyle.com and all those who have reproduced the offensive article.”
“Otherwise, they should be prepared to substantiate their libellous claims against the president in courts of law within and outside Nigeria,” the statement said.

Beverly Osu Lied Against Me,

His real names are Williams Orioha but people know him more as 2shotz. Some years ago, he was hot in the Nigerian music scene but just when it seemed the rapper had the world of music by the jugular, he faded into thin air.

That notwithstanding, he remained controversial as Beverly Osu of BBA fame had claimed she was once in an abusive relationship with the rapper before he dumped her and married another.

But 2Shots has cleared the air, claiming he never dated Beverly, "

I would not say that I dated her. We were just friends. We were cool kicking it and she did a video for me.

I have had scandals, you know 2shotz is a controversial artiste. There is always one controversial story or the other about me. For the past one year, it seems some people are trying to dig out dirt about me but 2Short is not the kind of artiste you can put down. Get it right, I am just like an army."

He also spoke on why he has been off the music scene for a very long time.

"I have not actually been far from the scene, I am still in the scene doing the same thing that I do. But the fact is that, people are carried away with the music of now.

Everyone is busy listening to Davido, Wizkid and the likes. I have no problem with that.

Things like evolution should occur. Sometimes, when people say, you have been away for some time, I always tell them, I have not. Everybody is still in the game, it is a big business I could be eating from one small angle and I am cool there. Every artiste is an artiste. I don’t think that because you reigned some ten years ago you should be referred to as ‘old school’. I am not old school, I am still very much in the game," he said.

Mourinho torments Wenger again

The long-running feud between Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho shows no sign of healing after another high-profile falling out on Sunday, this time the result of a dispute over territory.
Midway through the first half of Chelsea's ultimately comfortable 2-0 victory over Arsenal which stretched their Premier league lead to five points, it became clear that Stamford Bridge was not big enough for two of the game's strongest personalities.

Especially when a seething Wenger encroached into Mourinho's technical area raging about a robust tackle by Gary Cahill on his Chile forward Alexis Sanchez.
What happened next was both comical and unedifying in equal measure with Mourinho facing off Wenger and then getting a hearty two-handed shove in the chest for his troubles.

With the crowd in uproar, all that was missing was a theatrical tumble to the ground by Mourinho, who continues to have the Indian sign over the Frenchman he has at various times labelled a "voyeur" and "a specialist in failure".

While Cahill's tackle on Sanchez was barely legal, Wenger's reaction could land him a touchline ban, especially considering that if it had happened on the pitch it would likely have resulted in a red card for a player.
Calmer after the heat of battle, Wenger played down the incident with a dash of humour.
"I wanted to go for A to B and some one confronted me without any sign of welcome," Wenger, told reporters, the faintest of smiles on his lips. "It was a little push."
"B was Sanchez to see how badly he was injured."

Asked what Mourinho, who he is yet to get one over in 12 previous clashes, had said to him, Wenger added: "I don't listen to what he says."
Mourinho saw things slightly differently, despite saying the incident was "no problem" and that there were "no outstanding issues" between the pair.
"It became heated because of the game, a big game, big rivals, an important match for both teams. These conditions make a game of emotions... but there are two technical areas, one for me and one for him and he was coming to my technical area and not coming for the right reasons, and I didn't like that."

For all the pantomime antics of the two managers, the game itself was disappointing as a spectacle.
Arsenal looked the more fluid side on occasions without really menacing the Chelsea goal and it was telling that Wenger pointed at a possible handball by former skipper Cesc Fabregas from Jack Wilshere's shot as his side's best chance.
Ruthless Chelsea were simply too solid and in Eden Hazard they had the best player on the pitch by a long way.

The home side had barely threatened the Arsenal goal in the opening 27 minutes but the Belgian whizzkid came to life.
His bamboozling run through Arsenal's defence invited Laurent Koscielny to hack him down in the area and he obliged, conceding the penalty which Hazard tucked away with aplomb.
Hazard teased Arsenal after the break before Diego Costa sealed victory from a superb Fabregas through ball.

"In these matches you need one of your top players to take some magic cards out of his pocket and (Hazard) did it when the game was 0-0 and tight," Mourinho said.
"He did an action that could have ended the game if it was a penalty and a red card and not a penalty and a yellow. That would have been game over.
"In the second half he kept the ball very well when we needed it, it was a complete performance by him today."

It was also a complete performance by Mourinho who got the better of Wenger tactically once again, then claimed the moral high ground to boot.
"To be fair I do so many wrong things in football and sometimes you are emotional but not this time," he said. "I was in my technical area and it wasn't my problem."

Husband accused of plotting wife's death on honeymoon pleads not guilty

A millionaire British businessman accused of hiring hit men to kill his new wife during their honeymoon in South Africa pleaded not guilty as his trial began Monday.

Shrien Dewani, 34, has denied orchestrating the killing of his wife, Anni, in Cape Town in November 2010.
The slaying took place during a taxi ride through a township on the edge of the South African city, just over two weeks after the couple's wedding.
The taxi driver, Zola Tongo, confessed within weeks of the bride's death that he had hired two men to kill her. In a plea deal with South African authorities, he said he was paid by Dewani to carry out the murder and to make it look as though the couple were the victims of a carjacking.

Tongo was subsequently sentenced to 18 years in prison for his part in the killing. His two accomplices are also serving lengthy sentences for their role in the crime.

Family hoping for answers
The victim's family say they are relieved that Dewani is now going on trial in Cape Town.
"Hopefully, we will get all the answers we want," her uncle Ashok Hindocha said Sunday, according to local media reports.

Dewani, a care home owner, had returned to the United Kingdom after his wife's death. He avoided extradition to South Africa on mental health grounds during a three-year court battle, but was eventually sent back in April to face trial.

Psychiatric experts had said that he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression and that he'd tried to take his life. Before his extradition, he was held at a secure mental health unit in southwest England.
But in August, he was declared fit to stand trial after undergoing psychiatric observation, according to South African media.

An indictment in the case said he faces charges including conspiracy to commit kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder and kidnapping, the South African Press Association reported.
Dewani, from Bristol in southwest England, has said his wife was the victim of a carjacking and denies any involvement in the killing.

Amnesty opposes death penalty for 12 soldiers

The Amnesty International has opposed the court martial of 12 soldiers and the death penalty imposed by a military court in Abuja.

The military court, three weeks ago, convicted 12 solders for mutiny after they fired shots at their General Officer Commanding (GOC) in Borno State.

The Amnesty International Media Director, Susana Flood, at the weekend, said the organisation was opposed to death penalty notwithstanding the offence.

The statement reads: “The reason we have not said anything about the conviction is because we are unable to monitor the trial to be able to say it is fair, which is very important for us. We have to back our comment with fact.

“We oppose death penalty in all instances. In case of the soldiers, we are opposing their death sentence. We are looking at the trial to study all that transpired”.

She noted that human right abuse would not just end one day, but scored the organisation high on the success recorded.

“If you look at our work on the death penalty and you examine the statistics when we started campaign against death penalty, which was over 20 years and compare to now, you will see that a number of countries executing prisoners have decreased.

“Sadly, Nigeria is still executing. Eliminating death has been a slow bit of progress, but you can see the achievement we have made around the world”.
