After months of intense pressure from stakeholders in Anambra North Senatorial zone, former Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah has finally picked the nomination form for the senatorial ticket of PDP for the 2015 election.
Last month, at a public forum held in Onitsha by the Anambra North Development Forum, political stakeholders at the event had decried lack of quality representation of the zone in the National Assembly and resolved to send a delegation to Oduah to vie for the Senatorial seat of the zone in the coming election.
Saturday Sun gathered that intense consultations have been going on since then while the delegation continued mounting pressure on Oduah until she finally succumbed and picked the party nomination in Abuja yesterday.
Reacting to the development, former PDP governorship aspirant, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu and former Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Pandola Okwuosa lauded the positive response from Oduah describing it as a sign of political and economic renaissance for the people.
The duo while speaking to the press in Onitsha yesterday said that the move to give the people of Anambra North impactful representation by Oduah is hope rekindled for the people who have been suffering in the amid of plenty.
They called on the party leadership and the people of Anambra North to give room for equity by allowing Oduah from Ogbaru bloc to clinch the party ticket and also work for her victory at the polls so as to achieve the second desire of the people having produced the governor during the last polls in the state.
