LAGOS—NATIONAL Coordinator of Odu’a Peoples Congress, OPC, Otunba Gani Adams, Tuesday berated former
President Olusegun Obasanjo for allegedly laying the foundation of Nigeria’s current problems.
He also expressed worries over
the conduct of the 2015 general elections noting that utterances made by
politicians could lead to crisis.
Otunba Adams, who said this
while addressing newsmen said the concern was borne out of genuine fears that
no matter who wins the presidential election between President Goodluck
Jonathan and General Mohammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress, APC, the
nation was likely going to erupt in violence.
According to him, if Buhari
loses next year’s election, crisis may erupt in the north, while the
Niger Delta region is likely to be engulfed in crisis if President Jonathan
loses.
Blaming the former president for
major problems confronting the country, he said “the very cabal that Jonathan complained about was created by Obasanjo. All
the problems that are existing in Nigeria today, the foundation was laid by
Obasanjo.”
On the issue of a planned interim government, in case the 2015 poll became inconclusive, Adams said that could not be the solution.
