One feared dead as robbers attack Ekiti bank’s ATM

Suspected armed robbers yesterday attacked the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of a branch of a new generation bank located on Ajilosun Road, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, carting away an undisclosed amount of money.

Daily Sun learnt that a life was lost during the attack, but the Commissioner of Police, (CP),Mr. Taiwo Lakanu denied loss of any life . However, the police chief confirmed the attack on the ATM of the bank.

Eyewitnesses said they saw a lifeless body at the back of one of the police vans that responded to the distress call from the bank. They however could not ascertain whether the victim was a member of staff of the bank or one of those who came to withdraw from the ATM.

Lakanu told journalists on telephone that the bank was attacked around 2am yesterday, adding that one of the attackers had been arrested and helping the police to unravel others at large.
