The Delta State Government declared today a public holiday to enable eligible voters in the state obtain their permanent voters’ cards (PVCs) from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).The declaration was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Ovuozouries Macaulay, in Asaba.
According to the statement, INEC will begin the distribution of the PVCs in all the registration points across the state on Friday.
“The holiday will provide the opportunity for persons in the state who registered during the 2011 voter registration to exchange their temporary voter’s card with the permanent voters’ cards PVC,” read a brief statement Macaulay released.
